ChampionChip
Timing:
Dadfest will use the computerized ChampionChip timing system, which
records your time precisely from start to finish. Awards will be based
on gun time. You must pick up your loaner chip at the event race morning.
You may use your own ChampionChip, however make sure it is entered
on your entry form and it is your responsibility to ensure that it
matches your bib number. If you do not wear a chip, you will not be
timed and will not be included in any results. All loaner chips must
be surrendered at the finish line. |
Take
The Test!:
We will have free prostate cancer screenings on site. You do not have
to be entered in the run to be screened. Prostate cancer is killing
our fathers. The early stages of the disease are often symptom free.
All men over 40 should have an annual exam and be tested. Those with
prostate cancer in their family history may even need it earlier.
The sad part is that men are not going to their doctors and often
don't even ask for even a simple PSA test. You do not need be a paid
entrant to get the free screening. The public is invited. Guys
consider the stories you can tell after this event. The prostate cancer
screenings will be held in the Dallas Cowboys Locker Room. Worth the
trip just to be there one last time! |
The
50 Yard Dash (Children age 8 and under)
This a great opportunity for the smaller kids to be featured and cheered
on while running. We will run waves of children 6-8 at a time so each
kid gets that special attention! There will be finisher medals for
all kids crossing the finish line. Children 5 & Under can run
the 50 Yard Dash (if they are not running the 5k) at no charge as
long as an adult has a paid entry. Registration for all children
doing the 50 Yard Dash does not need to be done in advance. You only
have to sign a liability waiver for your child when you pick up your
packet or race day at the event. We will have plenty of child T-shirts
available for all. Have your child dash 50 yards on the field at Texas
Stadium! |
The
Dad's Day 5K:
Walkers are welcome! We will be running our 14th edition of the Dad's
Day 5k at 8:00 am. We will award the top 3 finishers in the following
age groups: 0-8, 9-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44,
45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-89, 90+. Awards
also for the overall and master's male and female finishers. Prostate
Cancer Survivors can compete in the survivor division with awards
for the top five finishers |
5K Dad and
Child Teams:
Because the 5k teams have become so popular we have expanded our age
group categories this year. Team times will be based on the combined
times of Dad & Child. We will have awards for the top three Dad
and Male Child teams and top three Dad and Female Child teams in each
age group. The age groups based on the child's age are: 0-8, 9-10,
11-12, 13-17, 18-25, and 26+. |
Here are our
5k-team rules:
Anyone that is entered as a team will not be eligible for individual
awards. This means if either Dad or child thinks they will win age
group awards don't enter as a team.
Your team age group will be determined by the age and sex of the child.
So if Dad is 80 and child is a 50-year-old man then they are going
to be in the male 26+ group.
Both Dad and child must run the 5k to be a team. A child in a stroller
does not count.
Sorry Dad if you have more than one child and you want to be in the
team competition, you have to pick one or all of you just compete
in the regular 5k |

The
Diaper Dash
At Dad's Day no one is left out. This event will take place on a
five-foot padded track up on our stage for all to see. Bring your
baby under the age of one who is not yet walking. We will put baby
on one end of track and dad on other end. Dad can do anything possible
to encourage their child to crawl to them. The five fastest babies
will receive prizes for their efforts. All babies will receive their
very first race T-shirt. There will be no charge for the baby in
this event, but we do ask that Dad has a paid entry.
