FATHER'S JOURNAL

As the director of the Dad's Day 5k and Dad Fest, one of the greatest joys has come from the experiences that fathers and their children experience at our event. After 16 years of marriage to my wife Melony and as many year's trying to have children, my first and only child was born on May 17, 2002. I want you to join me in the celebration of life and fatherhood. Written here are snippets of my experience with Ro from conception to present life.
I was born of a generation where details of my life and before me were just not discussed in detail by my parents and family. Most of my memories must be cobbled together by my siblings and my own cloudy memory. The purpose of this journal is not only to imbue a written journal of the love of a father to his son, but to give my son a sense of who he is and how he got there. Much of what is written here is mundane and ordinary, but in a real sense that is what most of our lives are and it is why we remember so little of it. Although I hope you read and enjoy, I write for the day when my son will pull this journal up and read it for himself. Chance are it will be after I am gone and maybe in some way it will be an opportunity to live with him always.
